Degree content

For Secondary applicants, degrees are usually, though not exclusively, relevant to the subjects to be taught. We may request you undertake a subject enhancement course (SKE) if relevant to increase your subject knowledge.
Primary applicants will need to evidence their subject knowledge within the national curriculum. Degrees in curriculum subjects are desirable, as are A-levels in order to provide the necessary knowledge and skills for teaching across the Primary Curriculum.
For applicants with non-curriculum degrees the relevance of the degree to teaching, along with evidence of other studies, will be advantageous.

Skills Tests & Fundamental Maths / English

The requirement to pass the skills tests has been removed. Your fundamental Maths and English skills in English and Maths will be assessed at interview and throughout your ITT year.
